Victims are no longer mere bystanders, but active participants in the criminal justice process." -Dean Holman, Medina County Prosecutor Medina County Prosecutor Dean Holman and the Medina County Prosecutor's Office Victim Assistance Division are available to any citizen of Medina County or any victim of a violent crime committed within the county.
The division offers 24-hour emergency services for victims of sexual assault and survivors of homicide victims.
Other services include: Crisis Intervention Hospital Advocacy - emotional and physical support through medical protocols Criminal Justice Advocacy - assistance through the investigation, prosecution and sentencing; victim notification of all felony cases as outlined in the Ohio Revised Code Section 2930: Victim's Rights Court Advocacy - escort and accompaniment at court proceedings Referrals to community resources Assistance in completing victim impact statements Assistance in applying to the Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Program Assistance in Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, Office of Victim Services victim notification process
